Things to Do at the Gulf Coast Flooring Markets

All work and no play? Not at the Gulf Coast Flooring Market (GCFM)!

The Flooring Markets are planned out so that attendees not only get to scope out the latest products and trends in the industry, but also have the chance to network with their peers and enjoy the best that whatever city they happen to be in has to offer.

In Biloxi, a thriving coastal city in Mississippi, there is always something more for visitors to do. From the sandy beaches to the exhilarating nightlife and amazing culinary experiences, everyone attending GCFM will find a little recreation outside of the market schedule.

Casinos

Feeling lucky? Roll the dice at any one of the casinos located right around the corner from the Mississippi Coast Convention Center and from the accommodations you can reserve directly through the official housing company for the 2020 Flooring Markets: Connections Housing. Try your hand at a wide variety of games of chance, found at such renowned casinos like Treasure Bay, Beau Rivage, and Harrah’s!

So, what do you say – can we deal you in?

Restaurants

Another great part of visiting Biloxi is access to some of the best restaurants in the region, especially if you’re a seafood fan. Since it’s right on the water, many of the city’s restaurants get the freshest catches of the day, which are then prepped, cooked, and delivered right to your table. So if you’re looking to treat yourself while you’re in town for GCFM, you’ve got quite a selection to consider. Everything from casual dining like Shaggy’s, to the stuffed shrimp at Mary Mahoney’s Old French House, to iconic locales like the Half Shell Oyster House, this coastal community has you covered.

Making your trip a vacation

Looking to expand your trip? We don’t blame you! Even though the market only lasts a couple of days, there’s no reason you shouldn’t enjoy as much of Biloxi and the surrounding area as you can. In fact, if you’re up for the road trip, New Orleans is just about an hour and a half to two hours away from Biloxi by car. If you haven’t ever been to the Big Easy, this February might be your best chance.

If you’d rather stay local, though, the beaches along the Gulf Coast are gorgeous. And, thanks to Mississippi’s mild, southeastern weather, mid-February temperatures aren’t as frigid as one might expect. While we can’t guarantee you’ll break a sweat hanging out on the sand, we don’t anticipate you needing a winter coat, either.
